The primary purpose of the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency (RAPCA) is to protect the citizens of the Miami Valley from the adverse health and welfare impacts of air pollution, both indoor and outdoor.
RAPCA is organized into two basic units: Abatement and Monitoring and Analysis. The Monitoring and Analysis Unit is responsible for indoor air, radon, vehicle emissions, asbestos, pollen and mold, air quality analysis, stack testing, emission inventory, source modeling, toxic air pollution and environmental assessments. The Abatement Unit handles industrial pollution enforcement.
