An outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus (COVID-19) that developed in Wuhan, Hubei, China in December 2019, has since spread internationally, and is now being closely monitored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States as well as State and Local Health Departments.
What Miami County Public Health is Doing
Miami County Public Health is closely monitoring this outbreak, along with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). ODH is also coordinating efforts directly with the CDC. We are actively communicating with our response partners in the county and region. We are also reviewing out internal plans and procedures to ensure that we are prepared and ready to respond if a case is reported in our jurisdiction.
